Sourcing a particular hook

Folks, I have seen this hook type somewhere before, but cannot source them. I do not know what they are called, but fancy them strongly for trolling through the kelp for the pollack, for obvious reasons. Can anyone assist me in tracking some down, or even with their name? Cheers in advance!

i had them hooks a few years ago, sorry but cant mind the name of them, i got them to tie up big flys for the pike. but i did get them from Glasgow angling centre, maybe if you try their web site you might come across them. good luck...

My oracle tells me it's called a "bend-back". I'll try to squeeze some more info out of him re makers/suppliers.

Try searching for Mustad 34005 or Tiemco 411S - they might no longer be manufactured.

Thanks Guys, yes Bend Backs are the name alright, I spoke to a professional fly tyer who runs an online shop. He used to get his from the States, but thinks that they are indeed discontinued. Apparently they cost a lot more to manufacture!
Looks like the Tiemco TMC 411S are close enough for me, and they do them upto 3/0. So thanks everyone. I just have to source them now!

No mate. A chap named Gareth at flyinghooks.com, he said he used to get them from Toronto, but the company stopped making them due to manufacturing issues. They are very hard to get your hands on. I still have had no luck, I am actually considering using circle hooks, and see if they will swim upside down.|I figure if I use dumbbell eyes on what would normally be the underside of the eye, it might work. Watch this space!

Yeah, ta, have looked at them and considered them, especially the red ones, might add a bit of glint to the tying

u could try a standard stainless hook like this and bend, their not the most technical hook

Yeah, lumpy, that's probably gonna be the solution, just have to get the pliers and the vice out!

shouldnt b an issue to be honest. this stainless tiemco's are pretty soft. i dont particurly like pre bent hooks for bend backs, usually bent too far back the shank

2 packs of 911's ordered from Lathkill, so looking forward to a bit of DIY, cheers for the tip!
