You're an optimist :shock:
Last year I tried a lot of lure fishing in April/May - a complete waste of time.
This year I don't intend taking out the spinning rod until at least the 16th June unless there are plenty of reports of bass being caught on lures earlier in the year.
Cod season Winter 2013/14: 117 cod (best fish: 6.5 lbs)
Cod season Winter 2014/15: 193 cod (best fish: 4.25 lbs)

yes,very early for the spinning yet,all though you do hav the odd year there are a few around early...give it a go after paddies day sometime,thats when i set my bass clock from...

nothing much happening yet in Wexford ...spoke to someone in Cork earlier in the week said they had two 6lb fish on the last weeks big tides....the fish were taken on some sort of sp...........
