Fixed Reel Divorce

#1 Post by johnnyf »

While i was washing & oiling my fixed reels the other day, I git called out urgently, so i let them drain/dry.When I went to get them the following day the wife had put them into a bag & put them in the shed-minus i later found the spool screw (Don't know what they are called), for tuning and screwing on the spools to the reels.Fireworks followed, and my very long winded question is if I cannot trace them cam you buy generic ones or do you have to get reel specific ones from the manufacturer.(Mixed bag of reels)

Most tackle shops can help you out. my mate broke a screw on his Axeon and the local tackle man got the replacement.

I have found the perfect cure for when the wife tiding up my stuff(ie moves it from my storage cupboard to god knows where because she decided it looked a mess in there) ...and of course looses things.
I hide the hair dryer say nothing until shes looking for it.. funny how it focuses her mind on to what happened to my stuff.

What kind of reel is it as i have about 10 diffirent kinds in the spare parts bag.

Bring it to a tackle shop,if that doesent work get the exploded diagram find the part number and get in touch with the maker.

BTW if the marriage fails there is not a court in the land that wont give you the kids, the house and the car after that.

Even though it no longer works at least the consolation of knowing it is tidy  can be your reward.

Try an electrical shop - more of an old timer than Dixons if you know what I mean. You know the sort of shop - they repair your TV rather than selling you a new TV, Surround sound etc...oh and would you like batteries for the remote sir!

Thanks a lot lads, will give them a go, still quite confident of finding them some where, as they are variance of reels from Penn,Okuma and Shakespeare, but it killed a day of fishing, I had taken the day off for.We are fighting over custody for the kids, if she wins, I have to take them
