Bridges of Ross, Co. Clare August 04 I think it was, fishing a rising tide on a warm summer evening in near darkness, pulling out pollack between 3 and 6 pounds on every cast...... Fabulous stuff, ran out of sandeels so deep spun a single Hokkai. Ill never forget that session, not a being to be seen, stood on the edge of the Atlantic with the only sounds being gulls calling and waves crashing.... magical.
Fluff chucking is the new black..... Rampant Wreckfish is a fly angler in denial :D

august 04.
High pressure.
No wind.
Low water at 5.30 am.
Not a cloud in the sky.
standing on the rocks with the sun starting to rise at my back.
Had been watching a shoal of bass coming and going on each tide for 2 days.
At the first sign of the tide starting to flood out came the free lined sand eels.
Was home for breakfast by 9 am after a swim and catching 7 bass the smallest of which was over 6.5lb and most between 8 + 10 lb.
All but cried for the rest of the week as i was stuck in work

forgot to mention another session i had. mark will remain unknown but like ye involved one of those lazy summer evenings when ever thing takes a back seat to fishing. stood on the rocks castin a 6 inch fluffy bugger (a fly of my own concoction named after my cat, dont ask!!!) to pollock chasing sandeel on the surface. first time i ever witnessed a pollack bait burst!!!. any way proceeded to get busted by very big pollock 5 times in seven casts. each took me well into the backin before getting to the kelp, they went like a train. mind you i didnt land a single one but that didnt seem to matter, pure bliss
