Donaghadee Pier, Co Down, 13/01/11

#1 Post by Drew »

People: Dan, James, Me

Duration: 6pm - 9pm

Tide: Dropping

Weather: Calm, 10'c, Dry!

Bait: Lug, White Rag, Sandeel, Mackeral

Rigs: Loops, 2 up 1 downs.

Results:

Pollack, Coalfish, Pouting, Long Spined Sea Scorpion, Shore Rockling

Report:

Back to the Dee tonight again to use the rest of the bait, got there for 6pm and saw people on the end of the pier, turned out to be Dan and a couple of his mates.
Fishing, again was slow, but changes in tactics, baits and areas fished soon yielded better results than last night.
Fishing in the weeds at the side produced the Sea Scorpions and Rockling, Fishing between the 2 piers produced a good few Pollack, and a Loop Rig fired out the back accounted for the Coalfish and pouting.
Good to get another 3 species on the 2011 list and hopefully I'll make it out at the weekend again!
