Delivery times

Hows it goin folks? just wondering how long it usually takes for a rod and reel to be delivered from across the water (engerland not uncle sam). i ordered it 8 days ago from a chap called gerry in a place called morecambe. He rang me on sunday (at 9 in the a.m. the sadist) to confirm the order and reckoned i should have it by the end of the week which would've been thursday or friday, but no joy. i reckon i should give it another few days but a friend of mine, who is an idiot by the way, reckons on shoutin down the phone at the man, which i dont really want to do cos he seemed pretty sound. anybody had a similar experience?

Dave,

Dont worry about it, Gerry's is one of the best shops in the UK for mail order. It depends who will be delivering and if the rod and reel will come together, if they do great, if not, thats normal.

Most rod shipments from the UK come by road/ferry, if it were me and it wasnt there by say Tuesday, give Gerry's a call and they will fill you in on the details.

The best way to get bad service from anyone is shout at them, if someone shouted at you over the phone, would you want to help them.

Good Luck.
Tom.

Last time my brother ordered from them it took 3 working days. Remember when dealing with anything mail-order that it's no good getting into it with the retailer when it's probably the courier who goofed up.

Gerry's have a great rep for customer service and will be happy to check with the couriers if you ask and get you a full update.

Well daithi.
Iv ordered about 5 lots from England in the last 3 weeks. The first order (3 weeks ago) has not arrived yet. Orders 2 to 4 arrived on this Friday and the last one (ordered after lunch on Monday) arrived on Thursday. So go figure. I think the morel is don't worry about till middle of this week.

I got a rod a few months ago from Gerrys. He sent it by express post (pretty sure it was EMS on this side.) It took nearly two weeks to get here but it was around the time of the postal dispute.
If you are worried I don't see any harm in asking/emailing when and how he sent it and requesting a tracking number. If he sent it by express post you should be able to track it on An Post's website.
