People me and ter
time 10pm to 7pm
locations , whiting bay, ferrypoint, yougal dock, yougal beach , the castle, the bridge , calista bay hiecky head
bait peeler crab, razor ,mack, white bait ,mussel
rigs everything
result whiting coalie pollock cod and i lost all my rigs

with the fishing being kinda brutal up here ,ter decided to take a spin to waterford /cork. got to dugarvin bfore 10 picked up bait in rod and reels (really sound of him to open up for us ). got a couple of spots off Gary and went to whiting bay first , full of weed strong south west blowing into our face waited 2is hours then headed to ferry point alot of weed here too but feck it we were going fishing regardless i had a pin straight away ter had a cod a hour later then he had a coalie fished here till 520am then drove into yougal and found a dock with evidence of fishing (loads of gut ,bait bags , chip bags and a tail and guts of a cod ) tried it here for 3 hours couple of bites but no hook up at this stage we were well and truely wrecked so we park in tesco and had a kip till 10 am and then ter tried yougal beach i tried getting some more kip but no joy and both parts.
Ter got to chatting to a local he told us to try the castle so we did no luck there on our way home we seen a bloke fishing from the bridge so we stopped and had a chat with him while we were talking he landed a cod so we legged it back to the ven got our gear and off we cast i caught 1 cod and that was it headed back to ferry point where a german fella told us to try calista so we headed to calista bay only to dicover it is right beside whiting bay and full of weed as well . ...bugger it . in a last ditch effort to catch some cod we headed to helvic head and fished the pier for a fair while caught only coalies but plenty of them they kept taken all bait at about 7 we decided to call it a night and start on the 5 hour drive home

fair play to yiz lads for the effort, sometimes it can be tough going alright. Those marks can produce bigtime but sometimes as you know it can swing the other way too. Its a pain when the weed is about too. I dont know about you but its still a mystery to me when and why it gets weedy sometimes and is clear at other times. Might post it up as a question on this forum. Anyway best of luck next time.

Hard luck lads. I fished the pier and the slob bank in Youghal over Christmas with just a few Coalies to show for it. A couple of days later I read a report that some fine cod were landed! At least you didn't blank
