Happy New year to all. Seanie thinkning of heading out tonight, wife permitting, just wondering if Ferrypoint is a spot you'd recommend. Havent tried it yet. Was in greenpark and quay week ago. Are u using fresh peeler also. Thanks. Denis

hi dennis ive been using either frozen or fresh peeler, ferrypoints throwing up a few fish i hear

Well done Seanie, that,s a fine cod. Looks like the bigger ones are coming back in with the change to milder weather, may have to head over that way myself this evening

just lucky on the night wez me thinks........i was totally outskilled by some foreign anglers last nite( mind you their both jinxes) and drew a big fat blank :lol: :lol: :mrgreen:

:shock: :shock: he did blank ,i always manage to to put the mockers on him ,but in his
defence he had to leave early high water was at 3.30 am and he was in work at 8.30 am but the fish did come on ,i ended up with 5 nice codling all around 2 to 3 lb billy had much
the same ,fishing was not near as good as the night before when i had a total of 19 cod also coalies ,whiting and dogs, i am sure you will bounce back with at vengance seanie :D :D

Well done - I should have stuck it out a bit longer, but after 8 small codling I didn't think anything bigger was going to show up.
I didn't have much luck on Sunday - in the afternoon I had a look at a few of my regular marks but they were very busy (must have been Seanie's report of the 6 pounder that got everybody out!!!) so I tried a mark that I hadn't fished since last winter but it was quite apart from a small five bearded rockling, moved on to another spot which was exposed to the northeast wind and only managed a couple of small codling early on the ebb. So decided I would be better off at home in the warmth.
Cod season Winter 2013/14: 117 cod (best fish: 6.5 lbs)

the last 2 hrs of the rise were best frank , the weed had eased off and i was able two
put my bait out about 80 yds and the bites started we fished till 5 am :shock: then the
weed came on . i am already looking forward to next trip

That's dedication :shock: :shock: On occasion I have fished until dawn in the summer but 5 am in the winter is too much for me :roll:
