Hi all, happy new year to all of you.
I'm going to get my Short Range Certificat for marine radio in February .
I only own a small boat and won't go further out then some miles . So I thought about getting a handheld radio. As I know that any radio has to be registered I wonder if there is something similar in Ireland to the Portable Ships Licence in UK. The advantage of this is , that you may use the radio on whatever boat you are using.
If so , maybe somebody knows where to apply.
Cheers Werner

AFAIK you cant get a ships licence for a hand held vhf. you need a fixed radio that is capable of dsc.
