Greystones 19/12/2010

#1 Post by dfella25 »

People:The Marino Boys and a shell of man that used to be Rodger.

Duration:6pm until 9:30pm

Tide:Rising HT about 10:20pm

Weather:Cold and a bit snowy

Bait:Lug, mac and Gordy had mussel but we weren't supposed to know

Rigs:Flappers and pulley's

Results:€8 to me

Report:A few texts around this morning and it was decided to head to Greystones for a few hours before the madness of next week kicks in. A quick dig for worms and we set off for lovely Wicklow yet again! We went with a pool of €2 a head for the longest fish. Slightly larger then the usual €1 but Gordy's confidence was high after coming 2nd in last weeks comp.

We set up and a very sick (self inflicted) Rodger made his way onto the beach. Things were slow all night with only small coalies, rockling, smaller whiting and a few flounder showing up. No codling of any size appeared for the night. I managed the grand prize with a 26cm flounder.

Ah we under no illusions of massive cod but just wanted to get out for a while. Shake off the cobwebs and have a bit of craic. It's nice to get them lads tiddler fishing. They spent the last few months harassing bass.
