set the mags to max and ease of gradually until it casts without a dragging feeling +no over run, you would be wise to clean the bearings in a tub of lighter petrol+ re oil with red rocket fuel , dont use yellow its too fast for 525,the oil penn put in the bearings is very heavy ,ok until you get the hang of ur new setup but not good for max distance + control.
hope this helps, rab.

I found a bit of medical tape (3M micro pore) on the thumb useful when starting off as it took me a while to figure out when and how to stop the reel effectivley without a friction burn.
Others suggest a bit of bike inner tube taped to the reel seat (you kinda flop it over to protect yor thumb)
Once you get into the habit of keeping your thumb well clear of the reel until you stop it firmly you should be fine.
Also make sure to keep the leader Knot off to the side of the spool otherwise painful thumb sucking will ensue.

painful thumbs
Excellent advice there...
The flap is a great idea, prior to that I was braking it using the thumb against the edge of the spool which was fine if you had laid the line correctly on the retrieve on the last cast but... - flap is far better. A velcro strip on the back and another on the rod (another use of hot glue) means the flap only goes there when it is supposed to... FWIW...
