Greystones

#1 Post by Kgarr »

People: Myself

Duration: 12.30-17.00

Tide:Dropping

Weather:Good! no snow/wind/rain, even a bit of sun

Bait:Rag,razor

Rigs: 2+3 hook flapper

Results:Flounder,plaice,whiting

Report: I'd promised 20 rag worm a day out this weekend, so with the comp cancelled, and given some heart after reading Rodgers report, I decided to brave the snow and head down to Greystones. Not to far away to drive to, and I needed to get some practice with my new multiplier anyway.
Was blessed with the weather, and glad I decided to go out! Conditions were decent for fishing, but all bait in close, and at distance were coming back untouched for the first 3 hours.
As soon as it started to get dark, the rods started nodding. First fish of the day was a lovely flounder 34cm! nice to catch a decent fat flattie! he is joining me for tea tonight!
After that there was fish on every cast, I love it when it seems like someone has just flicked a switch to tell the fish 'Eat Now!' especially after 3 hrs freezin me hole off catching nothing! :D
Unfortuately had to leave it just as the whiting were arriving, (the missus!) but happy to have gotten out and caught a few in this weather. Hope to get out at least once more before the new year.
