People:me (hardcore dodger)

Duration:4pm till 5.15 pm

Tide:low

Weather:nice for first hour,then not nice!

Bait:fizzy rag and sloppy lug (in my fridge since sat)

Rigs:two hook clipped down

Results:3 codling and two coalies




Report:took a jaunt out to greystones arrived to find a big surf with not too much weed 8) first cast 45cm codling on radio active rag happy days 8) followed by two coalies one on rag one on lug 30 cm each,next cast 30 cm codling (wasnt even feeling cold at this stage)suddenly the light stated to fade i looked over towards bray head and it had dissapeared :shock: in the next few minutes 3 big flashes of lightning light up the now black sky and the snow started to pelt down ,being an old and wise angler i got the flook outa their :lol: :lol:
was home for 6 just in time for a big slab of homemade lasagne and some crispy skinny fries and two codling for tomoras dinner :mrgreen: SWEET :wink:

some nice fishing there well done :D :D .are the cod making a come back on the east coast :) or are they lost with the bad weather :wink: :wink:

Pair of nice fat codling there Roger, nice result, they look well on the snow.
2013 Sea Species:- Bass, Flounder, 5 Beard Rockling, Shore Rockling, Whiting, red gurnard, grey gurnard, Pollack, coley, mackerel, sea trout, cant remember cos I didn't update at the time.....
2012 Sea species:- Pollack, Coley, Mackerel, Cod, Bass, Sea Trout, Haddock, Plaice, Dab, Flounder, Red Gurnard, Grey Gurnard, Pouting, Whiting, Corkwing Wrasse, Ballan Wrasse, Lesser Spotted Dogfish, Brown Trout caught on beach.
2011 Sea species:- codling, L.S. dogfish, coley, whiting, pollack(4lb 3oz), sea trout, shore conger eel (15lb), ballan wrasse, grey gurnard, plaice, dab (and lobster).

roads are just about ok but still icey in patches so take care once you get off the n11 ,no fish is worth a prang ,weed was in close i had my rod up high on the stand and was fishing from the high water line to get extra height ,was defo ok to fish though :wink:

Nice size fish. Day off work and im thinking of hitting greystones myself.

its a toss up between there or Howth
