Thanks Al, we are getting though all our fish recipes, best so far was tarragon-lemongrass-coconut-green chilli Thai sauce :D :D

Thanks, yes there are some good size fish about alright if you fish the right mark.

I was out last night as well with Patk, took him to the mark I fished last Saturday. It was another good night; I had about 17 or 18, upto 3.75 lb, Patk must have had at least the same amount if not more - he said it was the best night's cod fishing he ever had. Will try to post up report on it tomorrow.
Cod season Winter 2013/14: 117 cod (best fish: 6.5 lbs)
Cod season Winter 2014/15: 193 cod (best fish: 4.25 lbs)

It definitely was the best night cod i ever had! I had 18 up to 4lb really great night fishing and Frank you know your stuff boy. Brilliant thanks. Even though next to each other we didnt get a chance to chat much except at the end cos of the non stop action. Cold ? what cold ? think were lucky very lucky to be down this end of the country for the winter fishing.

Rockhunter and Patk, it sounds like yous have enjoyed some great cod fishin down there lately, well done and fair play. I'll be happy if I can get a 2lber this winter! Think I might see if I can find some peelers though its maybe not the right time of year.
2013 Sea Species:- Bass, Flounder, 5 Beard Rockling, Shore Rockling, Whiting, red gurnard, grey gurnard, Pollack, coley, mackerel, sea trout, cant remember cos I didn't update at the time.....
2012 Sea species:- Pollack, Coley, Mackerel, Cod, Bass, Sea Trout, Haddock, Plaice, Dab, Flounder, Red Gurnard, Grey Gurnard, Pouting, Whiting, Corkwing Wrasse, Ballan Wrasse, Lesser Spotted Dogfish, Brown Trout caught on beach.
2011 Sea species:- codling, L.S. dogfish, coley, whiting, pollack(4lb 3oz), sea trout, shore conger eel (15lb), ballan wrasse, grey gurnard, plaice, dab (and lobster).

They are the optium bait for cod, but getting scarce with this cold weather.

looks like something has had a go at that first cod! maybe a conger, or a huss or something. great cod fishin!! wish to cod we could get that quality of fish up here!! :P - antrim..
