how to get unstuck on a beach or ice roads

#1 Post by taz »

hey lads

with the bad conditions on the roads lately i thought i would post a couple of tips to help you get unstuck if you so unlucky.
these work for getting unstuck on a beach as well it has happened to me on a couple of occassions.
tools you will need
a shovel or spade (the instructions are on the side to show you how to use them)
a piece of carpet or a couple pieces of timber or a couple of branches
if you get stuck down to the chassis you will dig deep and maybe jack up the ve"hick"le you will need to place a timber under the jack to stop it sinking into the sand
1 dig around the tires (all four to make it easier to get out )
2 place the timber or carpet or branches or even stones down in front of the tires to give the tires some grip
3 slowly take off to avoid getting stuck again
if you get stuck again repeat step 1 and 2 until you get p1ssed off then torch the ve"hick"le and claim off your insurance

the carpet is a great idea. saved my bacon on portstewart strand in the past. all 4 car mats under the front left tyre and the carpet out of the boot under the right. started in 2nd gear with high revs and spun the wheel from side to side until she pulled free :P
