Sand/Shingle beach, North Wexford, Wednesday 24th Nov 2010

#1 Post by John D »

People:Me, Barry & Anthony

Duration:2:24 until 12:30

Tide:High at approximately 09:30

Weather:Cold, occassional light shower at night, bright in the morning, very calm sea, slightly coloured sea, 3 days after full moon.

Bait:Fresh lug, frozen mussel, frozen peeler crab.

Rigs: I was using a two hook paternoster, size 3/0 Kamazan and a 4oz grip weight.

Results:I caught a flounder, a dab and a coalfish. Anthony caught 4 whiting. Barry caught the 'I'm never going fishing again' bug! :D

Report:We had decided to go fishing on this day and to this location because it was what suited everybody. Truth be told it wasn't the best choice of venue but we knew we were in for a tough session - especially considering the extremely timid conditions. Still we had a great night!

lads,

I have to defend myself here !!!!

Now,firstly i had to concentrate on the drive down while the two lads slept in the car all the way to wexford "giving them a head start" they were fresh on arrival.

After setting up the bivies and rods and all that b*****ks isnt it nice to have a nice cup of tea when you have casted out the rods. It helps thaw the fingers and relaxes u .I was all ready two battle the elements knowing we had water and gas ,and when i heard the sweet sound of the whistling kettle drown out the waves ,i said lovely once i have a cuppa ill be sorted for the night.

Well check this out ,laurel and heardy between the two of them (well educated lads by the way. "blackrock college students" aswell) forgot the f***ing milk.

Now because i was the owner of the vehicle ,my so called buddies decided that they would confiscate my rods .I disagreed with this tactic and i was forcefully removed from the beach and sent on a quest for milk.
(a bit like that film "Willow" except im not a midgit).

Which in turn left silly oul me driving the back arse of wexford at 3:45am looking for an open garage or an unsuspecting milkman to sneak up on,by the way the guards pulled me over too.

I mean how can a lad concentrate with this type of stupidity goin on around him.

I was bullied ,harassed and an occasional slap too.I come home traumatised and ive developed a nervous twitch in my left ball.

Disgracefull .

No really ,to be honest it was a bad location ,the lads done well considering .And personally i didnt really try.I went fishing just to get away from herself.I slept under the bivie most of the night.

over and out

Good funny story Barry but you're just trying to mask the truth of your woeful inadequacies as an angler. Anyway just for the record - I would've gone for the milk if you only had of asked. I even would've walked!!! And I still would've returned to outfish you :-)

Over and out,
John D.
