Cork harbour 10th + 12th november

#1 Post by evan699 »

Wednesday 10th
We Fished pier head in cobh on from 6.00pm - 9.30pm. We had a few codling that fell to razor and black lug and when the run of codling died off we switched to mackerel and picked up a few whiting and coalies. Nothing massive but enough fish to keep us busy anyway.

Friday 12th
Finished work early and headed to monkstown to fish the wall. It was fairly busy but we found space and got set up with pulley rigs and big razor and black lug baits. Baits were in the water by 3 o clock. I had a fish a cast for the first hour with a mix of codling and whiting but it died off after that. My buddie had one codling that was fairly messed up from an encounter with a net by the looks of it. The codling were all between 1lb 2oz to the biggest being 2lb 5oz.

I stocked up on peeler and mackerel thismornin so we're off out for another session tonight to try for codling and hoping for a conger too so hopefully i'll be posting something more interesting in the next few days. While we were trying to find parking in monkstown on friday some idiot swung a codling in over the railings in such a hurry that the grip lead neary came through my windscreen and i had to swerve onto the other side of the road to avoid it. Thought i'd mention that so anyone passing by should keep an eye out for flying fish and lead weights. All the photos were taken in monkstown as i forgot my camera on the wednesday.
