Opinions needed (M427, ZTI)

#1 Post by BassBE »

I'm looking for a dedicated casting rod, won't be used for fishing as I have enough rods for fishing.

Had the chance to try out an M4 Evo and M427 today, first zziplex's I've casted and they were both a step up from the TTSM I normally use, fast recovery really made a big difference in distance.

M4 evo felt a bit more bendy than the M427 but both went pretty far, suprisingly the M427 felt more manageable than I imagined.

I'm now looking more in the direction of the ZTI and M427(and hi-flex), how do these compare? Maybe other alternatives?

Thanks!

Ive a ZTI and like it a lot, Its a powerful rod but not in the same bracket as the M427 .I got it for casting but ended up using it for long range and rough ground fishing as I still prefer my TT-R for field casting. I have cast the M427 hi flex a good few times and its on my wishlist although ive still to try out the standard M427 which I could like even more.

Thanks for the advice, are these rods the same diameter or is the ZTI thinner?

I'm gonna give the hi-flex a go if I get the opportunity.

Thanks for the offer, bit of a long way as I'm in Belgium but you never know 8)

Normally the BSC is going to have a test day soon so I hope they'll have the hi-flex there.

If i remember right the ZTI is a little slimmer than an M427

Yes I think you are right Paddy the ZTI Is a tiny bit slimmer, and the M4 evo is a lot slimmer.

Thanks Paddy, the M4 evo was a joy to use, don't have the biggest hands so the slimmer profile definitely made casting a bit easier. If I could get a rod with the diameter of a M4 Evo and the power of the M427, I'd be a happy man :)
