Always a good read and a nice guy I met him in the uk when I was staying there for a while he gave me a load of white rag one evening, and I hammered good sized flounder and schoolies. He makes sense and understands casting and fishing very well.

Re: John Holden's guide to better beach casting
I took a few lessons in pendulum casting a good few years back. I found it great, however I left the sport for a while (not willingly) and having returned last year I have been slow to use pendulum casting regularly. I'm sure I'll work up to it eventually but all technique is probably long gone. As long as I get more distance safely I'll be happy. For now off the ground is doing fine. Good article though, it made me feel better about trusting my own instinct.
