Catch Reports
Just finished a week of intense Shore Angling. I have not done much in the last couple of years as I've gotten hooked on Boat Angling, Saltwater Flyfishing & Lure as well as Game Flyfishing & Flytying. Clon bay was the first port of call. The Bass were quiet but plenty of flounder. Hit Monkstown on Wed night to good results. Plenty of Codling to brighten up the night. Was heading down East to Youghal early thurs morn when I spotted a boat trawling up towards the ferry in Monkstown. Seems they get one word the Codling are in and it's out quick to kill the shore fishing. Tried Monkstown on Saturday night and sure enough catches were down. As a result I went to Garryvoe with Christy in tow and we had a great night session. Plenty of Painted Ray still about, Codling, Dogs, Coalies and a Flounder that got lost in the dark. Well worth the trip as it was a magnificent night out there. Saw a pair of lights down in Ballingwilling so nice to know someone else was enjoying the peace and good fishing too hopefully.
