Donaghadee Pier, Co Down, 24/10/10
People: Dan, Rhys, Drew, Various other folks (Visit from Stevecrow74, and the other half)
Duration: 12.30 - 1600
Tide: High, Some Drop
Weather: Bloody good.
Bait: Lug, Mackeral, Peeler, Mussel,
Rigs: Various
Results: Coalfish to around 30cm, Ballan Wrasse to 33cm, Whiting, Poor Cod, Corkwing Wrasse, and a 3lb Pollack.
Report:
Got out of work at midday, to see Dan and Crew heading into Donaghadee, got into the house, gear on, Rods sorted, Back to the Dee for 1230!
So, to the fishing, got there to find Dan fishing over the back and his mates on various points of the pier, strangely nobody was in my corner, so I immediately set up there, score.
Things were steady enough for the entire session, with Dan and I picking up plenty of Wrasse and Coalies, various others were also picking up the odd coalfish too.
While retrieving a loop rig I got a solid thump, which turned out to be a Pollack of around 3lb, really good scrap from it, even on the beachcaster. Got a picture or 2 and released it at the steps, It swam away strongly.
Good to see Stevecrow and the Mrs up this direction too!
