just found this site and thought i would register. i do alot of pike fishing from a boat and usually go out to sea to catch bait for my piking but im starting to get into inshore boat fishing as a result of this so this site should help me out a bit. ive got a dell quay fisher 15 with a 6hp mariner so im limited to only a couple of miles off shore. ive been out at red bay where ive caught mackrel, whiting, haddock, doggies, gurnard and plaice. also been out at ardglass where i got some pollock. towed the boat to donegal last summer too. :D

Hi Fergal, welcome to the site, when i first read your post thought it was a 60 hp mariner, !!! thatd shift

no only a 6hp. i think my boat would go nicely with something around 10 or 15hp. some day when i win the lotto i'll upgrade :roll:
