hey all, would really like to try lures/plugs for bass, any words of wisdom on line/shockleader/plugs etc much appreciated

first night plugging for bass, and never mind the fish i'm hooked! amazing the way you can feel everything through the line, few bites tonight but landed nothing, although a pair of bass swam right by the rock i was standing on, couldnt believe it
