#1 Post by gfkelly1969 »

People:myself

Duration:18.15 to 21.00

Tide:high 16.48 5.3m

Weather:windy with thunder showers

Bait:feathers,mackerel,squid,sandeel

Rigs:feathers,2 hook flapper,conger trace

Results:3 pollack,2 dogfish,1 conger eel,1 three bearded rockling

Report:I headed for the pier and when I arrived the water looked very cloudy and loads of sprats jumping as well,I tried the feathers first to see if there were any mackerel around and got the 3 pollack
pollack.jpg
had a good few casts but no macks
after dark I set up the bait rods, one at distance and the other with a conger trace in close
the rod at distance was the first to produce, landed 2 dogs
dog.jpg
then the conger rod got a knock and I landed a conger
conger.jpg
a little later the conger rod got another knock and I landed a three bearded rockling
rockling.jpg
headed to a beach near the pier,I was going to spend a hr or 2 on it but when I arrived the beach was covered with kelp,I never saw as much weed on a beach before, lorries of the stuff,I think a Trawler must have done a run near by
