Arklow, Co Wicklow 03/10/10

#1 Post by Larry 90 »

People: Myself, The Uncle And A Friend

Duration:17:00 - 23:00

Tide: Top of tide 18:30

Weather: Overcast and Damp

Bait: Rag,Lug,Squid,Mackerel,Crab

Rigs: 1 hook Paternosters, 2 hook Flappers

Results: Whiting, Dabs, Flounder, Ray, Doggies, 3 Bearded Rockling

Report: We satrted fishing at 5 it was dull and overcast and looked like it was going to rain thankfully all we got was a few dribbles of a passing shower so it was all good! The fishing started slow enough with with some small Whiting and Flounder and an hour or so into fishing my Uncles friend got a small Ray think it was a Painted Ray! By the time i copped on to get my camera he had released it and it was back on its way!! :( Oh well! Around the same time the Lifeboat went out to help a yacht in distress just off the Arklow Wind Farm the pics arent that clear because of the distance but you can make out the Orange Lifeboat! They then accompanied it back to Arklow. As Darkness Fell things picked up I got a small Dab close in on lug tipped with squid! Then 2 whiting on a 2 hook flapper they took the lug tipped with squid aswell! The lads got a few doggies and things started going quiet so we made our last casts and to finish the Uncle got a 3 Bearded Rockling! Great nights Fishing! Cant wait for this weeks session :)
