new rod, quick session.

#1 Post by eeler »

People:me,

Duration:19;00 to 22;00

Tide:rising

Weather:ok

Bait:rag lug mac white rag.

Rigs:2 hook flapper, 2 hook clipped down

Results:flounder coaleys bass eels and a codling

Report:got a new 12ft 3lb carp rod and shimano 6000 reel loaded with braid for fishing in close for flounder and bass, went to try it out last night, so cast out into the gully and send the other rod out far, i was getting a fish or two every cast, good craic on the light rod. a good few coaleys around a pound, few small flounder, four or five eels, bass from three up to seven pound, and on the last cast i stuck on the only two big black lug i had and cast it out, a few minutes later got a decent bite and landed a nice codling just over forty cm's. not great pictures,

Nice gooing eeler and good to hear that you have christened the new rod already.
Sounds like a great session with Bass, Codling, eels and Flounder all in one session, especially the Bass to 7lbs.
Still looking for my first Bass this year, but I am sure it wont be long.

ha ha oh right, i get it now, i think your winding me up, are you. did i not see a report with you with a "6lb" schoolie in your kitchen not too long ago, either ways dosn't matter as all bass were released without harm, not because im mad about c&r or c&k, they way i see it, if your fit to catch it you can do what you want with it, i just wouldn't be mad about the taste of them, their o.k every now and then.
the title of the picture of the bass said " bass double" meaning i caught them both at the same time, they both went back grand. dont know what made you think they were dead. the codling on the other hand wasn't so lucky, he needed the panadol.
