Nice meeting you yesterday. I hope you had better luck then we did later on. That is a great way to fish for flounder I'd love to give it a bash sometime.

Thx lads for all the comments and opnions about the blog. My pleasure. Nice too see your work being apprecieated :) Answering your pm and questions. this is my 5th season, when I target the flatties on lures. My experience is based only on two rivers- Barrow and Avoca. but IMO, U can do it on every river in ireland and UK. For me, the river flounder season starts in May and finish in October. Every year I finish it with 200+ flatties on lures. Best session: 57fish-2 people-4hours. I never measured them before. but I had really few big ones. My best from last year was 37 cm. I really love that kind of fishing. the fat flounder on the light tackle can give U real emotions.
How to fish? like for the river perch-play with lure, not too fast
When? I fish for them on the nite and day on the HW
Lures? shads, grubs, spiners and small plugs
Where get the lures? few UK online shops are doing them
My photo gear-Nikon DSLR+lenses 18-55 and 70-300+polar filters+sometimes tripod
P.s. It was also a pleasure for me to met U guys (cooke,dfella25,eric) last days in St Mullins. regards david :)
my flounder boxes, below-U can compare the lure size for the 5c coin

a true pleasure to meet you too david. and a fantastic way to target flounder i may add. only ever had one flounder on the lure. this is the only flat ive ever had on a lure off the shore was shocked to see it, but obviously he isnt the only one out there.

nice flatties on sps...
ever tried a second, smaller hook linked with braid, fluoro or mono to the eye of the "main" hook in the tail of an larger sp for flounders? ^^
