Ive caught plenty of doggies in Ireland mostly the light sandy colour with the odd darker coloured ones, they were trawling off the south coast of England in gale Force 10 winds crazy suff, 550 pounds for 24 hours wasnt bad not a job for me though.

There's also the blackmouth dogfish. Never heard of them caught off the shore but they do inhabit irish waters.sea serpant wrote:Colin wrote:Just wondering was anyone watching trawler wars on discovery channell, very good programme, anyways as they were hauling in the nets and emptying them I noticied a fish to me it was a doggie was of no real size but had 3 distinctive black rings about an inch in width and a couple of inches apart with the usual other spots you would expect to see on a doggie. My question is are these just the markings on the fish or is it a different sort of species of doggie.
