Courtown - 13/09/10

#1 Post by Aurelien »

People:family

Duration:6pm to 12am
Tide:rising

Weather:windy, wet and surprisingly warm

Bait:sandeel, mack, rag, lug and peeler

Rigs:2hooks flapper and pulley

Results:flounders, whitings, tiny rays, tiny turbot, smoothies and of course doggies

Report:Went on a ray hunt ... But after seeing Roger report, guess that we pick the wrong spot :( ... On the ray side, think we were fishing in the maternity backyard as all we got was a few tiny thornies ...
So with the second rod start to mess up with flounders and whiting ... Finally switch to peeler and started to pick some smoothies. No monsters but they are always welcome ... A few doggies showed up as well ...
Hope the big thornies will still be there next week end ...

a photo with a big ray is cool ... But you re right those scrappy smoothies are the best ...
For the turbot didn t know there was some there ... Nice little surprise ...
At least there was no weed, no crabs just a few doggies :)
