specimen blue, carrigaholt, 28/8/10

#1 Post by jw »

People: tommy luke, sylvie, a red haired woman  and jw

Duration: 9 -15

Tide: spring

Weather: NW 4

Bait:mackerel

Rigs: wire

Results: 4 blue sharks, including one specimen looks like 130lbs, 1 garfish, 1 whiting

Report: Tommy walks down the pier with a red haired woman
just as members of the fishing community were putting to sea. then he
brought her in the boat shark fishing

he still managed to catch a 130lb blue. what would we have got if he
hadnt done that :-) this garfish took a live joey on a wire trace
and make a run which would have been respectable by a blue shark, the whiting
are not in residence at the minute

Well done... great session...

@JW... I have been wanting to join you in one of the shark sessions but my last boat experience really put me off... 1.5 hours of fishing and 4.5 hours of being sick in the sea... any tips to prepare before I even attempt to join you guys?

I would really love a session like what you just had.

Thanks
WABS

hi simply, it was a great session, the blues ignored the deeper baits,
at one stage two of them were swimming about in the slick, i gave the
inside rod a bit of a jiggle and bang he hit it

for seasickness, dont have a load of pints the night before, followed
by a huge fry in the b&b, the seasickness pills help save most people
most of the time, the other thing is to go fishing a lot :-) and you
will quickly get used to the motion of the boat

That's a great report John! I laugh myself off

Must say that it was my best shark session so far!
