Bunagee pier Culdaff this evening 23/8

#1 Post by cathald »

me and jonathan(a guy I met down there:

5.30-10.30:

an hour before full and a while after full:

windy and a few showers:

sandeel:

2 hook flappers and a red gill on the spinning rod:

loads of pollock 1 lsd 1 plaice 1 pouting 1 whiting coalies:

left the house this evening after the dinner and went to bunagee met up with Jonathan who it turns out I play golf with his father.we were using 2 hook flappers out on the sandy ground getting bits and pieces but once it started to get dark we were hitting every cast nothing massive but good fishing all the same.I was using my light trout spinning rod also with a red gill and knocking pollack steady only one around the 2 lb mark which was great craic on the light trout rod.all in all a decent nights fishing with a few species caught.Only down side was I lost quite a bit of my braid when I went to strike a fish and it seemed to snap for no reason, but further investigation revealed one of the eyes had a small crack in it which must have cut the braid  :
