People:myself and 20+ bashers

Duration:20.00 to 23.15

Tide:19.37 5.6m

Weather:dry and windy

Bait:feathers,mackerel,squid

Rigs:feathers,3 hook flapper,conger trace

Results:37 mackerel,4 scad,1 pollack

Report:arrived at the pier to see about 20+ bashers swinging feathers and German sprats every where so sat in the car for awhile to see if many mackerel were being caught, not many were caught in close in
I threw a set of feathers on the beach caster and climbed the high wall of the pier and had a go at the bashing myself, had a couple of full strings, most of the mackerel I caught were 200 feet or more from the shore
got the scad close in

after awhile most of the bashers packed up and I set up one rod for conger and one bait rod

there was a young lad from Belgium who I met a few times over the last week fishing and he asked about the bait fishing so i showed him how to set up,after awhile he had a bite and started reeling in what looked like a sliver eel,it came off before he got it up on the pier
my bait rod and conger rod were untouched all night
