galway bay sunday 15th

#1 Post by smiliejp »

time; left galway docks at 9.30am till 6pm
weather;foggy to start ,very calm no wind till evening, very warm 20+.wind picked up slightly in d evening
bait; mackeral flppers, mack strips and baited feathers

tried a mark on the way out in the bay for tope after no success we headed for the aran island seen as it was so calm.arrived at the mark picked off plenty of good size mack kept a few for bait, and caught a few small whiting but returned them all too small and picked up a doggie on the larger rod it went for a mack tail.we headed alone the coast near fanore for pollack in about 40-50ft deep picked a nice few 4-5lbs pollack kept a few and returned the rest to fight another day, great sport on the pike rods.had about 40 -50 mack all day to keep us entertained.so heading back in around 6pm and to rescue a stranded jet ski from renmore who got stranded when ski took on weed.good day all round but no big that day
