Maxol E85 Fuel...good bad or indifferent?

#1 Post by ltdslipdiff »

Hi all, has anyone heard that the E5 Fuel from Maxol (5% Ethanol) is meant to be better at handling maritime conditions and better at keeping over a long storage period than standard unleaded?

Stores longer alright, but there was huge controversy in the usa over ethanol in fuel doing damage to boats and engines, google it and see what you think.

yes this certainly opens a can of worms .and explains why a lot of boats breakdown after filling up at certain garages.http://www.evinrude-parts.com/boat_etha ... ution.html.
this is something i have never taken in to account when buying fuel for the boat but will watch carefully in future. thanks man
