more connemara ray9-8-10

People:2 cousins,my da,and a mate and myself

Duration:12-6

Tide:lw-hw

Weather:odd shower and windy

Bait:mack squid,sandeel mack rigs

Rigs:1 hook pads

Results:23 ray 70 mack 1 whiting 1 red gurnard 1 gray gurnard 1 scad




Report:after a great day on friday at this mark headed back again to a even better days fishing from the time we got there we had fish nearly every cast and could have had a lot more mack if we wanted i was feeling the presure on the way to the mark as the lads were going to fish somewere else and i changed there minds saying i could guarantee them ray and after the first cast the presure was lifted and that was the way of things to come for the day with all the boys geting good size ray and lot of mack my da had 2 gurnard on a mack rig witch i have never heard of we ended the day with 23 ray the biggest being 6lb6oz a great day fishing had by all

Some nice ray there lads. Crackin session. Well done. Just one would do me but the hunt continues. Hopefully it'll pay off soon.
Species 2014: whiting, coalie, pouting, codling, pollack, ballan wrasse, dab, poor cod, mackerel, grey gurnard, conger, ling, cuckoo wrasse, launce, common skate, bass, scad, garfish, blue shark

That is what I call a first class fishing session, if I caught 23 ray in a year I would be happy nevermind in one day :shock: Well done fella's, that was a session to remember 8) Great pictures, it looks like a great wee spot. Keep up the good work!

nice one tight lines... pleanty of ray around that mark alright.... one qiuck hint about fishing ray from that mark is ,, if you close your barbs on your hook it is alot easier to get out of the ray and no damage done..plus out there once you hook a ray you are retreiveing from deep you will not loose your fish... i have been fishing that way myself this year for ray and no problems..... nice report and photos.....

you would make it up in no time now that the tunnel in Limerick is open,plenty of camping close by as well
