waterfoot beach

#1 Post by paulybo »

People:me and mate

Date :07/08/10

Venue:waterfoot beach

Duration:7pm/midnight

Tide:last hour of high then low

Weather:dry and calm

Bait:rag tipped with squid

Rigs:2 hook flappers

Results:a flounder a cast and a coalfish

Report:my mate has nagged me for a long time to go fishing as he has never fished before and wont touch the bait or any fish caught i put it off as long as i could (big sissy)
i had 1 rod at distance and 1 close in most fish were taken close in with just a short lob which suited the mate as he wanted to cast himself got a few fish on the long rod one of which was a coalfish
most of the flounder were hand sized with a few bigger ones thrown in aswell
dont know how many we ended up with and left when we ran out of rag the mate recons he caught the most which wouldnt surprise me as i spent most of my time baiting 3 rods up and unhooking fish
on the upside he cant wait to fish again
all fish but were easily unhooked and returned with only one flounder deep hooked

Good to see the flatties around in numbers, they've dissappeared from a few of my local haunts.
