I am replacing my reel and am looking for a good quality long lasting fixed spool reel to hold around 250 yds of 20lb line. It will be used for general purpose shore fishing off rocks and beach. Does anyone have any recommedations?

Re: Shore Fixed Spool Reel
What about a Shimano Ultegra 5500XTB. Will easily take 250 yrds of braid. Baitrunner is also very useful for surf fishing. Check fleabay as they have been updated to the new C4i material so the older version is going cheap.

Re: Shore Fixed Spool Reel
I use a Daiwa Tournament entoh right now, very solid reel and smooth. Sold my Shimano ultegra's to buy one of these and don't regret it at all.
Might want to check out those new Daiwa Windcast Z series, they look pretty good and are equipped with a Quick drag feature and Long-distance spools.
