better than bass heaven 7/8/10

#1 Post by plumster »

People:myself

Duration:9pm-3am

Tide:high 10:30pm

Weather:warm and calm

Bait:lug/rag

Rigs:2 hook flappers

Results:6 bass /7 flounders/ several escapes

Report:

took off in search of beach with a bit of surf and ended up about an hour from home before i finally found one. had'nt fished this mark before so was'nt sure what kind of ground i'd be fishing over,so cast out one line and left it for about five minutes ,came back in ok but baits were stripped.this was how this fished for the next hour so uped sticks and moved on

on the way home i checked out another beach .it was flat calm here without a breeze, the clouds had cleared and the sky glistened with stars 8) ,did'nt have high hopes here but it was just to nice a night to go home. after only 15 minutes i had my first fish  .only a 2lber but a pretty decent start . followed shortly by a 3lber and then a 4.5lb  , missed a couple more takes when i was trying to get the camera to work  , which i eventually did for a while anyway.

now i could concentrate on the fishing again. next came a seriously strong bite which i thought was going to snap the rod in half but unfortuntly that was that ,the fish was gone and with a hook too .had to be huge. had a string of flounders after that ,think it was seven in total and then the bass were back. both rods bouncing at times and more fish landed and others lost .had 2 over 5lb and the last fish was over 6. was actually glad to be out of bait at this stage as im sure i'd be still there now .was better than bass heaven :!:

cheers clown, you'll find one soon enough ,oh and about the boat make me an offer
biggest flounder was only 25cm but i usually just take them off as quickly as possible to get back out for the bass.
