Dublin 06/08/2010

#1 Post by dfella25 »

People:Gordyh and myself

Duration:6:30pm till 10:30pm

Tide: HT at 9:30pm

Weather: Warm with SW wind and later on rain

Bait:Rag

Rigs:2 and 3 hook flappers

Results:Gordy 2 bass and 2flounder, me 1 flounder.

Report:After not making any plans for a session tonight we decided to try a mark close to home. A quick scout and a half pounder each (well worth a fiver) we picked out a spot. After a short while we were joined by a stranger who asked a thousand questions. A nice lad we had a bit of laugh until the tide started to come in behind us. With waders on we weren't paying too much attention but this lad only had a pair of runners on. It was enough to send him packing  First few casts came back untouched but after an hour Gordy was into a schoolie followed by a flounder. Then about an hour before HT he had another schoolie followed by another flounder. Needless to say the pressure was on but I was having little luck. We met Darren from on the site here and had a good old natter. He mentioned it could fish on the drop so we decided to hang on a little bit. Luckily we did because I got a strong bite and reeled a decent flounder of 39cm. Matching my PB for the third freaking time this year   I will beat it yet!

I should also mention that my car got done last week and they stole my two rain coats, my Sat Nav and a case of beer. I got bleeding drenched tonight! Time to buy a new winter coat just like the old days in August when school started to seem a reality
