if it was ballycastle on the boat i would probably have heard about it by now, as there is really only one boat fishing the marks up there this time of year and any news of catches from it i normally hear fairly quickly.

it was just i have heard of this big fish from a couple of people now that i know dont even know each other and from different places....
but hey, maybe it is just a rumour, at the end of the day the only thing will prove it is a photo!

Its possible, but then again its also possible to be a wild goose chase for some people

Will give the old man a call & see what he's heard, haven't fished Ballintoy in the winter for a long time! but i haven't really thought its been rough or cold enough yet for there... any big cod we got were during the worst weather conditions, most people thought we were mad  Though that was a couple of years back when we used to fish it all through the winter and were lucky if we so a mouse let alone another angler

Was up home yesterday and the fish in question was around 13lb and caught bout couple weeks ago.

Never bothered finding out who caught it, as most of the guys i know that fish there wouldn't have broadcasted the catch
Would have been kept quiet amongst ourselves
