kilmore quay 1/8/10

#1 Post by mitch »

me and the brother dermot left the slip at 10pm
conditions near perfect ,headed west of the saltees to
grounds we never fished before ,after 20 mins enough mack
to do us for bait so out went all sorts of rigs we were straight into
fish cod ,ling ,wrasse pouting pollock, coalies ,cucoo wrasse more mack and launce
best cod was just over 6 lbs , ling to 5 lb ,pollock to 6 lb and pouting to just 2 1/2 lb .lost count of number of cod we got , but it was well over 100  nearly all returned except a few for the pot .we had well over 30 ling . :P fishing was frantic from start to finish .this place blows greystones out of the water which is a pity as i can remember not so long ago catching cod to 10 lb and thats only
10 to 15 years ago ,we also had super thornies and blonde ray fishing alas .... them were the days .....

Cracking fishing there Ger, well worth the trip down.

Did you really fish from 10pm, or was that meant as 10am ?
