Waterford COD

#1 Post by coaster »

Hello all

haven't had a chance to get out in the last week but heard from some local net fisher men that plenty LARGE cod have been caught in the Suir. Can anyone confirm?
Either way wishing you all tight lines for the holidays

Have fished there(back of ballinakill downs) a couple of times this year with no success for cod. Have heard there are plenty of cod being taken out of there. Last year around this time we were catching loads of them and they were big enough as well.Must try it again soon.

Cheers for that Daven.
Know that it can be a good spot but heard of a lad getting 4 boxes for a six hour dip of the nets. most fish in the six to eight lb bracket. i trust him as i saw some good fish that he kept for my brother. Also they are getting them further up the river with very little caught at that mark.
Must get out there VERY soon.
