Report:
after getting a pm from paddy during the week to inform me there were a few spots still available for the festival i decided it was time for a road/boat trip to new shores and a plan was put into action

. we could'nt make it up for the 2 days as i was working on saturday so it would only be a one day affair for us, but it was a chance to get out to somewhere different we had'nt fished before. our alarm went off at 4am and we got sorted and hit the road for 5am. we wanted to get up early to have a look around the place and scout out some new shore marks while we waited for the lads and boats to arrive. so with some potentally fishy looking marks saved on the sat nav we headed to bunagee to get ready for a day out on the open water

. a few of the lads came over and introduced themselves and soon enough paddy arrived and we got to see what boat we'd be going out on. we were drew onto the swilly explorer with 5 other lads and before too long we were rigging up and heading out to catch a few mackeral for bait. within a few minutes we had enough for the day and we set off to the rough ground mark where we'd spend the first few hours of the comp and a good stream of fish were being landed all around us and we were getting in on the action too with some lovely ballan wrasse to specimen weight landed and some cracking pollock to around 7lb. the following drifts produced more of the same with the odd corkwing wrasse thrown in for good measure. but sadly it was over all too quickly and we were off to the clean ground section of the comp. some of the lads were pulling in red and grey gurnard 3 at a time and ther were all pretty respectable sizes too

. there were a few whiting around too and a quick move had us over a massive shoal of coalies ranging from 2lb to 5lb. they fought really well as every one of our 3 hook rigs had a coalie on each hook wanting to head off in a different direction

. it was great craic and we had a great day out, but it was over all too soon

. when we got back in to port some of the lads informed us that there was gonna be a bit of a do back in the pub with the results of the comp, but we got there a bit early and waited round for an hour or so and no one had turned up yet and both of our eyes were beginning to close so we called it quits and hit the road. i was dissappointed we did'nt get to see the lads again, but a week's work and a serious lack of sleep had taken it's toll and we were knackered and called it quits. but we had a great day's fishing and got to put some faces to names and the craic on the boat was mighty. what more could you ask for

.
does anyone know where the results are being posted as i've looked all round the net and on the site and i can't find them yet?
