Rigs:12ft surfcaster w 3 hook flapper/3oz griplead - 10ft Pier rod w 3 hook flapper/4oz griplead

Results:1 crab

Report:Lots of bites but 100% of them were bait stealing,nothing taking the fatal gulp. Retrieving what I thought was a catch to reveal a crab caught up between the bottom hook and griplead.

Fed it the rest of my bait and went home

Unlucky mate. get yourself some lug/rag worm mate to go with your mackerel i find i get a lot more fish using them together

we had great sucess on that pier not to long ago with fresh rag and mackerel we caught dogs,dabs,and small pollock most of the night.
