Eastern Command SAC Clean up on Arklow
People:Eastern Command SAC
Duration:from 1300 to 1900
Tide: rising
Weather:a few showers
Bait:Crab rag lug and mackeral
Rigs:3 hook clipped/flappers
Results:Smoothounds, tope, dogs, ray, whiting, Dabs, Flounder, Gurnards, Mackeral,
Report:We had a great day in Arklow, One of the lads Robbie Coventry had only casted in and turned his back and his rod thumped over from a 47cm wingspan thornback ray, that was returned before i got the oppurtunity to get a snap, while most picked up a dab or a dog on their first cast, there was a steady flow of fish with a few small pup tope showing up and the smoothy's, the best smoothy of the day went to Robbie 96cm, it would have been nice to have a scales but it seemed as if it would have been close to specimen weight.
the smoothy's were at distance but everything else was in close at about 40 yards
regards

Re: Eastern Command SAC Clean up on Arklow
we normally carry scales with us, but we were not expecting a fish of that class to be caught, lesson learned
