was soon telling dave how to catch them. reminding me that the last time he was out he caught the most
he then proceeded to do something i v never seen done.he says to dave i want to catch a dogfish and we tell him that you dont get doggies on sabikis that we were fishing for mackeral.he then says iv got a big fish .
thinking he had a full house i went to help him. in comes a doggie on sabikis no bait no nothing.told you was the retort. we managed 40 macks he got about 25 of them had to listen to him all the way home about how good of a fisherman he was.
wedsday nearly dident happen battery died starting the boat. loose terminal. lucky dave had the spare one in the van. as we looked over the city thunder and lightning and you could see the downpour. clear skies over howth. ian arrived. out we went first stop dropped and straight in to a shoal of macks full houses all around.
we moved a few times and got back on them. we then headed around to the bailey and started drifting they came to us in 1s and 2 s. i stuck out a second rod baited with macks it was been savaged as soon as it hit bottom doggies whiting and small codling and gurnard every few minutes youd here im in. and a shower of mackeral would rain on the boat we headed in at 10pm with140 the macks are back

What boat is Edelboy Derek?
i was around the back of the eye for a while testing out my new dory so you may have seen me. Little 14 foot open dory, white hull, blue and black gunnels with a suzuki 65 on it. Like you we got them patchy at the island but got a dozen or so and then got back to testing her. Launches great off the waves at 35 knots
Did you see the two Polish guys in the white inflatable, there were three guys out in a 10 foot inflatable a bit further up towards malahide.

I nearly ran over them Guys in the inflatable last year...they were off the back of the Island in pretty rough water.
As I said before it's only a matter of time !!

Yeah I saw you out there drifting down from the white strikeliner. A while back I saw thos guys down on the slip with their car parked ACROSS the slip sitting there for about 15 minutes, The reason they had the car there is so they could run their 12 volt pump to inflate it.
I asked them to get a move on and said would they not inflate in the carpark and carry it down or even aprk properly on the slip. Cue blank looks all round.

Re: edelboy 20th and 21st howth
very nice . I must try and get out behind irelands eye some time . You should try fishing for mackeral with a 12lb spin rod and small spinner they give decent fight then and less time unhooking
