back on the bass,

#1 Post by plumster »

People:solo plumster

Duration:11pm- 3am

Tide:high around 3am

Weather:very nice

Bait:squid/rag/razor

Rigs:2 hook flappers

Results:3 bass/1 eel

Report:
was going to start with just the one rod to see if weed would be a problem but after just 5 minutes i could'nt resist the tempation of casting out the other ,incase that would be the one to get the first fish  .
should have waited as i spent the first hour pulling weed off both lines :x enough of that so moved on up the beach where there did'nt seem to be much weed on the shoreline so back in with the baits .was'nt long and i had my first fish :D ,a nice fish which gave a good fight in the cleaner water .unfortunatly i had to move again a while later as the tide was pushing me back up against the bank
.found a good clearing up further so back out once again, straight into another fish ,this felt even better ,a good 3.5lber i'd say, have to get myself a new set of scales and then another ,smaller this time but still it gave a good fight too and then a very different bite, struck and felt the fish kick but felt as if i'd lost it on the way in,but then in comes an eel  rolled up in a ball ,had to chop up the trace to free him.nothing more for the next half hour so packed it in

sent you a pm back about that ruairi. i'd say that will be the quickest healing broken leg .dont rule out what i said to you earlier about fishing from a wheelchair on piers  will have to keep an eye out for you on clogherhead ,you could stock up your freezer with mackeral for a tope session in 2011 :(

rag tipped with squid .dont get what you like about them ,you'd need to have 20 riggs on standby if you targeted them. :|
