thanks paula. i'll give you plenty of warning next time as that session was planned just 24 hours in advance after our boat trip got cancelled. and just to think how many more bass we could have got if i'd remembered to lift a kilo of razor out of the freezer to bring down with us . aahhh well ,, theres always next time

thanks don. my memory is awful at the best of times so you could imagine the fun i had trying to remember all the incidents that happened while we were away for the report. one day sort of just blends into the next. but we really could'nt have asked for more as both the weather and fishing was great. the east coast lads came up trumps again with the venue and hospatality.

Great report Al,you forgot to tell the sneaky way that Neil grabbed the hotspot,,,,,,,,,,,waiting for us all to set up first before he ambled up to set up next to me and get "my smoothies and Bass" . Seriously though, it was a great session with all the target species caught , taking all the pressure off me .I'd like to thank Roger or "The Special One", as I call him for giving me some well needed advice about the mark,,,he was spot on and put us right on the fish,,,,its only a pity that Neil landed my fish,but thats what I get for inviting him ,,,,come to think of it ,,,,,,,,,,,,,who invited him . It was a pleasure to see yourself, Jordan and Dawsey as always and the little lads face lit up the beach when he saw the smoothies ,,,,talk about fearless,,,,when I think of the way that young lad can handle fish like large smoothies and Bass and then you see grown men afraid to touch doggies ,he's a great kid
PS,,,,,,,,,,Not that i'm picky or anything but it was 2 smoothies, 3 whiting, 1 flounder, a codling and a doggie for me These things are important
he was cute with that move dave . the special one was on the ball 100% with the info for the mark and thankfully everything else just fell into place with great weather too. it's not often i plan a trip away and get away with it without some sort of disaster befalling us . and if jordan had his way he'd still be camped out on the beach cuddling his big smoothie . that really was the highlight of the trip for me, seeing the look of joy on his wee face doing battle with it and getting it up onto the beach all by himself. he's already told me about 100 times over that, that was the best fight of his life . and you should see him with the conger eels such a wrestling match just grabs them by the back ot the head and the belly and gets them in a headlock . no fear of getting covered in slime for a pic

thanks ronald. we knew if we fished a few cycles of the tide in day and night we were bound to get a result . just as well we did thow or dawsey would have blanked and jordan would have missed his bass and big smoothie

i,m going to bed after reading all that i feel knackered glad my advice worked out well i,d look like a right plonker if you all had of blanked well done jordan has that smile worn off yet i,d have loved to have seen you fighting that big smoothy they sure tug back i turn back into a 10 year old crossed with a cowboy when i hook one yeeeeha

that was the shortened version of the report roger . it was only when i went to read back through it i started to think it was a bit of an epic, so started taking bits out i could have done a 3 page spread in a magazine with all the incidents and funny happenings we had on our trip . but a really big thank you for the choice of venue as you were bang on the money .

thats one hell of a session lads ,great report al,very detailed and i think jordan had the best fish of the session followed by the 5.5lb Bass, actually no the tope .anyway take it you never got to bettystown,just as well the fishing went crap.

thanks plumster. we missed the chance to head up to bettystown as my mate was heading back up north on monday morning, so we did'nt get the chance to get the keys for the van off him . but if the offer still stands, we'll have to tie in with you for a tope session before he heads back to school at the start of september . now he's had a taste of a smoothie he's at me for a go at the tope

thanks brian, i'll say hi to jordan for you man. i think that brings us up to about three quarters of the way through our tour of the counties so far. i'll have to look back through our diary for 2010 and put them onto our signature at the bottom of our posts to keep count and see where we're headed to next

ahhh, you know us all too well ger . you were spot on with your prediction man. as soon as we lost the light things picked up ten fold . but we have to hit that same spot again on a high spring tide to see what fish venture closer in on the hunt another road trip me thinks

Pity about the gut hooked bass - but once they are hooked in the gut you are better off putting them out of the misery, even if they do swim off I doubt they survive long.

thanks frank. the wee man is still over the moon . that's the first time i've ever had a fish take the hook so deep it actually pulled some of it's innards out . but he did'nt go to waste i pan fried the fillets in garlic butter skin side down until they were brown and crispy. totally yummy

cheers man. we must have slept for a good straight 14 hours when we got home, but what's a bit of sleep deprevation when you get a session like that

that was the shortened version noel. i sometimes get a wee bit carried away when i sit down to write a report i forget it's for the website and not a 3 page spread atricle for a magazine how are you fixed for the end of the month?? do you fancy a sligo and leitrim session?? we need to fish leitrim to tick it off our tour of the counties mission corbyeire wants to get a session in there with us ,so we could do a wee mini meet if you are free. we might even be able to squeeze a galway tope session in too
