Galway 6/7/10
People:myself and alex
Duration:4 hours
Tide:dropping
Weather:strong southerly wind, rain, dull
Bait:mackeral/lug
Rigs:3 hook flappers and 3 hook clipped
Results:Alex: 2 flounder
myself : 5 flounder
Report:After what only can be described as the proudest week of my life at the home nations i was itching to get a few more flats! Alex was looking to get out for a change so we went out and dug a few lug. We chose a venue with flounder being the target species. I was first in with a flounder of 20 cms followed by another of 16. Then it was alex's turn getting a flounder of about 20cms in close! Think he started to forget what a flatty looked like after his long break from them haha Alex then got another flounder again in close. All went quiet for a while with the crabs starting to plague us. Until i managed a double shot of flounder on lug. Decided to put a clipped down out to see what was happening a bit further out and was rewarded with a small flounder. All in all not a bad session, few fish showed up and had good craic!
Alex has a photo or two he said he would put up.
