Out of Dunlaoghaire yesterday (friday 25th ) with two of the lads from 7.30 pm to 10 pm and got 80 .Beautiful calm evening .This is what mack bashing is all about .

Went out again this morning with one of the less successful lads and got 12 between us from 11.30 to 13.30 .Seas much rougher .I felt for the lads casting off the shore given their chances of catching a lot less than ours and much harder on the arms .

After all the effort the comp is off tomorrow in Wicklow (rightfully so looking at the forecast ) so into the freezer with the lovely macks.

Hi Lads

Got 5 yesterday at Castle Point Co.Clare. I was hoping to load up the freezer with bait but ......Only a few people there and they didn't seem to be getting many. Only saw one other landed during my 1.5 hours there. Don't know how I managed 5!

A little off topic, but the place was a disgrace. Beer cans and bottles ( not the best place to be unsteady on your feet is Castle point!) , old tackle wrappings ,I even saw an old nappy. Its the same every year I go there. Sickening really.

Trouble.

Haven't been out this year yet due to illness but it IS a disgrace. Why do gobs***s go out of their way to litter like this? Can they not sit in their own garden and chuck it there?

Anyway. More on topic, any reports from Waterford area?

I got my first few mackerel of the year last night down on the rocks in Bangor. I float fished for them using small sandeel. There seems to be plenty about now which is great. It's always good to have a few in the freezer for bait.
